2.Pool Hours 3. Pool Use
1.1. The pool manager and staff are responsible for the safe and orderly operation of the pool. The pool manager on duty has the authority to eject anyone (member or guest) from the pool proper and its adjacent structures at any time and to suspend their privilege to use the pool facilities for a period up to three days. Serious infractions and repeated infractions of the rules are the purview of the Board of Directors of Rockshire Association, Inc. (here-in-after referred to as the Association) for investigation, review and appropriate action including suspension of pool privileges for the year. 1.2. Members' complaints and grievances should be brought first to the pool manager, then to the community manager, and lastly to the Association. The Association responds if the member submits the complaint or grievance in writing. The member must first find the remedial actions taken by the pool manager and the community manager to address the complaint or grievance unacceptable. [Top] 2.1. The pool opens Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and closes on Labor Day. When the Montgomery County Public Schools are in session the pool is open from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, and from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday. After Montgomery County Public Schools are dismissed for the summer, the pool hours are from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Sunday through Saturday. At the direction of either the pool manager or the Association for purposes of safety, health, maintenance, authorized swim meets, special functions or budget the pool hours may be modified. When this occurs the day(s) affected and the modified hours are posted at the entrance to the pool. [Top] 3.1. Only members and their guests are allowed to use the pool 3.2. Everyone entering the pool area must register at the pool-house entrance. 3.3. Everyone residing at the same address (property) may use the pool if they registered property with the Association for pool privileges. Non-resident family members, grandparents, visitors, etc. are considered guests. 3.4. Children 10 years of age and younger must be accompanied at the pool facilities by a responsible person 16 years of age or older. 3.5. The Association determines who is eligible to use the pool and exceptions to rules. [Top] 4. Guest Fees and Restrictions 4.1. Guest fees are established by the Association. 4.2. Guest passes may be purchased as described in the Guest Pool Pass section above. 4.3 Guest fees must be paid for all guests 7 years of age and older. 4.4. Guests entering the pool facilities must be accompanied by a member and are subject to the pool rules. 4.5. A fee of $25.00 is assessed for any returned check, and pool privileges are suspended for that member until the original charges and fees are paid. [Top] 5.1. Members and guests use the pool facilities at their own risk. A member is responsible for any damage he or she causes or that is caused by guests of the member. The Association is not responsible for personal injury, property loss, theft or damage to personal property. 5.2. Any person using the pool facilities at other than sanctioned times will be considered a trespasser and is subject to prosecution. In addition, members caught trespassing may lose part of or all their pool privileges for the year. 5.3. Vehicles must be parked only in designated parking areas. No parking is permitted on the paved and grassy areas adjacent (25 meters) to the pool. 5.4. All persons using pool facilities must conduct themselves in a courteous and safe manner. Running, rough play, profanity, harassment, etc. are prohibited. 5.5. Pets are not allowed within the pool facilities. 5.6. Use of the baby pool is limited to children 6 years of age and younger. A responsible person 13 years of age or older must remain with each child brought into the baby pool area. 5.7. All children under 3 years or not toilet trained must wear rubber pants (available for purchase at the front desk) under their bathing suits at the pool. Disposable diapers (and swim diapers) do not satisfy this requirement. 5.8. A lifeguard may ask any pool user to demonstrate his/her swimming ability in order to be allowed in deep water. 5.9. All persons 15 years of age and younger using the main pool are required to take a 15 minute rest out of the pool each hour. Parents may bring children 3 years of age and younger into the shallow area of the main pool during this 15-minute period referred to as adult swim. 5.10. All bathers must take a shower with soap before entering the pool. (A requirement of the County Environmental Protection Department). 5.11. Unsanitary acts (such as urinating, blowing nose, etc.) are prohibited in the pool. 5.12. Persons with communicable diseases, inflamed eyes, infections, skin disorders, etc. may not swim in the pool. 5.13 Alcoholic beverages, all glass containers, and chewing gum are not permitted are not permitted within the pool facilities. . 5.14 Food is permitted only in the designated eating area. Clean up of eating areas is required. No littering. 5.15. Diving from the side (edge) of the pool is only allowed in the diving well or as part of an approved, properly supervised, organized activity. 5.16. Playpens and strollers are permitted only in the baby pool area and in the designated eating must be parked against the fences with wheels secured and must be supervised if child is inside. 5.17. Chairs and lounges must be kept in designated areas. Chairs and lounges may not be placed in the water. 5.18. No Smoking at the pool or in all buildings. 5.19. Chairs and lounges may not be "staked out" for eventual use. 5.20. During normal hours of operation rafts, floats, tubes, inflated devices, etc. are prohibited in the main pool. No metal toys or objects are allowed in either the main pool or the baby pool. Kick boards, masks, snorkels, flippers, splash balls, noodles and dumb bells may be used. Use of these items may be limited at the discretion of the lifeguards. 5.21. No loitering is permitted either at the pool entrance or within 10 meters of the pool entrance. 5.22. Accidents, no matter how minor, must be reported immediately to the pool manager on duty. 5.23. Radios, cassette players, compact disc players, etc. may only be used with personal headphones. [Top] 6.1. Lap lane is for lap swimming only. 6.2. Swimmers should swim on the right side of the lane so more than one swimmer can use the lap lane. 6.3. Slower swimmers should allow faster swimmers to pass at the ends of the lane. 6.4. Swimming through the lap lane or diving over the lap lane is prohibited. 6.5 .The lap lane is not to be used by any member of the swim team during swim team practice. The swim team coach may authorize use of the lap lane if there are no lap swimmers present but must make it immediately available to lap swimmers upon request. [Top] ~Fin~
