The Sharks showed tremendous resolve in our swims at both the G Divisional Championships and the B Relay Carnival.  We had several individuals and relay teams win their events and it was very impressive.

Congratulations to our All Star Swimmers - Daniel Yook, Ashley Sippel, Tessa Urovsky, Annie Fagan, Melissa Strauss and Emily Schaefer.  They will be taking part in the All Star activities next weekend at the Rockville Municipal Pool.  Please go out and support the Sharks!

Thanks to all of our graduating Seniors and their families for all the years of swimming and being a part of the Rockshire family.  The Sharks will miss you and we wish all of the best to:

Lauren Allen, Madeline Casey, Amy Eaton, Adam Fagan, Stephanie Helwig, Brendan Phelan and Ashley Sippel.

A special thank you must go out to our only graduating parent Diane Phelan.  She has been a tremendous part of the Rockshire family for the last 14 years and we will surely miss her at the Clerk of Course table.

Thank you again to our A Representatives Lisa Sippel, Sue Jordan, Lisa Merkin and David Merkin and to our B Representatives Kathleen Barry SyBing, Ann Hepburn and Mary Ellen Stern.

Rockshire will be in Division H next year with Chevy Chase Recreation (CCR), Inverness Forest (IF), Palisades (PA), Wildwood Manor (WM) and Calverton (CA).

Thank you to our outstanding Shark coaching staff of Dan, Amy, J.P. and Kevin.

Thank you to all our swimmers, coaches and parent volunteers for a terrific year!

Finally, several swimmers have expressed interest in possibly swimming as a year round sport.  It is a terrific activity that kids can use for the rest of their lives. Those of you who have been to the Division G "A" meets this year have noticed several teams with year rounds swimmers.  In particular one team in our division has over 60% of their swimmers taking part in swimming at some time other than the summer.  Click here  for a link to local swim clubs from Potomac Valley Swimming, the local swim committee of USA swimming.  All of these clubs have both stroke and turn clinics and competitive swimming including meets throughout the year.  Several have pool locations real close to the Rockshire area including RMSC, Curl-Burke, Hydro-Sonic Tiburones, Joe Flaherty's Dolphins, Flying Gull Swim Club and All Star Aquatics.  These are all wonderful swim clubs and please ask any of the coaches if you have any questions about year-round swimming.

Go Sharks!
